Schiller Therapy House for Children with Special Educational Needs in Rezina
At the moment, in the Moldovan rayon Rezina more than 200 children with different diagnoses of disability are registered. Because of having no possibilities for rehabilitation at home, these families have to travel to other cities to be able to provide necessary treatments and therapies for their children.
The idea to create a regional therapy centre came from one family from Pripiceni village who have a child with disability. Only in this village and other 4 communities next to this village, there are about 45 children with special needs.
Due to the funding of Mrs Jeannine Schiller Hilfswerk Austria International in co-operation with Rezina Public Administration can realise the idea for opening a regional therapy centre within a local kindergarten in the village Pripiceni.
- Setting up of a day care centre
- Renovation works (changing windows and outside doors, arranging water supply, renovation on the building roof)
- Simultaneous provision of services for 25-30 children at one day (medical cabinet, kinesiatrics, music classes)
- Social inclusion of children with disability.
Hilfswerk Austria International has already supported and/ or set up other rehabilitation centres in Dubasari, Tiraspol, Chisinau and Criuleni. The experience gained during supporting these centres will be useful for the Therapy Centre in Rezina.
