Education for all children: Inclusive tuition

In the Republic of Moldova, the possibilities for supporting children with special needs are very limited. Especially in Transnistria – a self-proclaimed autonomy – only little has been done for children with disabilities. The assistance for families has remained unchanged since the Soviet times, which means disconnected care for children with special needs. Thus, an inclusive approach is highly needed as well as developing social acceptance and awareness.

The project seeks to include children with special needs in public schools in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the region of Transnistria. In this way, social exclusion can be counteracted. At the same time, all students gain social competence and learn cooperation. A special focus is on advanced training for (future) teachers, the removal of entry barriers and information events.

  • Trainings and further education for students of pedagogy concerning inclusive education
  • Supporting barrier-free access to public schools
  • Further education for teachers and professors
  • Trainings for parents of children with disabilities
  • Information events and awareness raising
